BRUCE C. GREENWALD
Described as the “Guru to Wall Street’s Gurus” Bruce C. Greenwald is one of the nation's leading economists. He currently serves as the Robert Heilbrunn Professor of Finance and Asset Management at Columbia University's Graduate School of Business, teaching popular courses on Value Investing, Corporate Finance, Media Strategy and Globalization & Markets.

He taught as a professor at the Harvard Business School and Wesleyan University. Early in his career, he was a research economist at Bell Laboratories and, for a one-year period beginning in 1987, was the staff economist for the Presidential Task Force on Market Mechanisms (the Brady Task Force).

Bruce C. Greenwald   Before Competition Demystified Bruce has been the author   or editor of several books:
  • Economics for an Imperfect World: Essays in Honor of Joseph E. Stiglitz, editor with Richard Arnott, et al (MIT Press, 2003)
  • Towards a new Paradigm in Monetary Economics, with Joseph Stiglitz (Cambridge Press, 2003)
  • Value Investing: From Graham to Buffett and Beyond, with Judd Kahn, et al (Wiley, 2001)
  • Adverse Selection in the Labor Market (Garland Press, 1980)
Bruce has written numerous papers published in journals such as the Harvard Business Review, American Economic Review, Journal of Finance, Rand Journal of Economics, Oxford Economic Papers, Journal of Finance and Accounting, Quarterly Journal of Economics and Journal of Industrial and Corporate Change.

Bruce consults worldwide on a variety of issues concerning capital markets, business strategy, corporate finance and labor performance.

Bruce received the following degrees: from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a B.S. and a Ph.D. and from Princeton University an M.P.A. and an M.S.

JUDD KAHN
Judd Kahn is currently COO of Hummingbird Management, LLC, an investment management company. Prior to joining Hummingbird at its inception, he was an historian, the CFO of a privately owned manufacturing company, and a consultant to government and not for profit agencies.

He taught history at Wesleyan University (where he and Bruce were colleagues), served as the Connecticut Humanities Council’s Humanist in Residence in the city manager’s office in Hartford, Connecticut, was Associate Director of Career Development at the School of Management, Yale University, and then worked in private industry and consulting.

Judd Kahn
    In addition to Value Investing, which he co-authored with Bruce, he wrote Imperial San Francisco: Politics and Planning in an American City (Nebraska, 1980), and The Architecture of Understanding: Model Construction in the Classroom, a book-length manuscript on college level pedagogy.

    Judd has a B.A. from Harvard College and an M.A. and Ph.D. from The University of California, Berkeley.
